Blogging has been around for quite some time now, and just like everything else, it has adapted to the various craziness that has catered to our interests. It is then not surprising that various kinds of bloggers have emerged through all these years. And so, just to poke fun at my fellow bloggers (and myself included), please allow me to list the types of bloggers that has both captured and wasted our time and imagination.

1. The Blo’vers (blogger-lovers) – probably one of the most populous citizens of the blogging world. They are the hopeless romantics, broken-hearteds or sometimes just simply the lovers who found blogging as a means to express their passionate pains or sweet nothings in life. We envy them, we can relate with them and sometimes we even give advices to them. There’s just no reason to hate a Blover.

2. Mr. And Ms. Blogs – they are the “models” of the blogging world with their poses, outfits and hairdos. Eye-candy or not, a little vanity never hurt anybody.

3. Ninjas – perhaps the total opposite of number 2 as they’d never want anybody to know who they are; perhaps due to the sensitive contents of their blogs. They are those who have nice expressive usericons (avatars) or those who have written a very descriptive profile about their feelings, goals, situation, etc. A lot of people simply call them Anonymous, but I like to think of them as ninjas stealthily roaming the web.

4. Englishers – How many among us made a blog because we wanted to be better writers? Personally, it is the most practical and appropriate reason there is to blog: to be a better writer—in the English language to be more particular. However, here’s the a question for these people, how often do you really check the grammar of your piece? Oh well, nobody did like a Grammar Nazi.

5. Undiscovered Shakespeares – are the people who constantly dumbfound anyone who would have the chance (and patience) to read their writings. They are the poets and the story tellers ubiquitously hiding among us. They have the style, diction and thought-process to envy. And when you read something like that, it would just make you think: Why aren’t they famous yet?

6. Sex athletes – steadily growing in population, they are the people who have discovered another practical and entertaining way to use the blogs – as a sex log! They offer a little taste of the pleasures and challenges behind the closed doors of their bedroom. Perhaps a little too much for some people (especially the young ‘uns) but yes, they are one of those people a little bit more open to their “sport” than the rest of us. Love ‘em or Hate ‘em, they definitely add color and texture to the mosaic world of blogging.

7. Scanners – is the umbrella term that I’ll give to the cartoonists, painters, photoshopers who might or might not use a scanner at all to be able to showcase their skills (and drafts) in the field of visual arts. Good ones make us awe, while others still manage to make us smile (or at least look)

8. Photo-bloggers – I separated this one from number 7 for two reasons: 1. For their uniqueness 2. For their awesomeness. Be it a simple picture of what they’ve had for lunch, a picture of a random object or a picture of any object for that matter, they all share this little piece of memory that they got from their lenses. Truly, these artists are bloggers with a thousand words.

9. Control Vs – Busy, unmotivated, or sometimes simply amazed, these time savvy bloggers are those who use their blogs as a means to share interesting stuffs that they saw from other bloggers. Sometimes a complete waste of time, while sometimes a very good source of reference and information, they can be quite random at times depending on their interests. A reminder to all Ctrl Vs (myself included): please don’t forget to give due credit to the original owner!

10. The Magic Sings – people who post the lyrics or videos of their favourite song perhaps because that’s what’s they’re singing in their heads at the moment. Blogging may not be a very good way to showcase your own singing voice but to these people, it’s as close as it’ll get.

11. Addmes – God knows why they want so many online friends. Facebook addicts or probably just very friendly individuals, friendship all depends on the approach. I don’t hate them, but it isn’t hard to see why some people get annoyed. As it is written: Nobody likes a Grammar Nazi AND a TROLL!

12. Stuntmen – And finally, the final “citizen” of the weblogs that I’ll be mentioning here is the Stuntmen. They are the people who do all sorts of stunts just to get noticed. In their blogging arsenal are various gimmicks to grab your attention. Sometimes we notice them, sometimes we don’t. But you know what, you can do whatever you like in the wonderful world of blogging.

Of course I also have to mention that nobody is confined to any one of these stereotypes because we, ourselves, are a mixture of some of them. Be it the passionate Blovers, the random Control Vs or the friendly Addmes, YOU, ME and THEM are the quirky people who make up the blogging world.

And so that concludes this topic for now.

PS. If you want to add anything to this list, please feel free to do so.
